Colorado driver license systems down across the state
The Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles is currently reaching out to Coloradans who have an appointment at a State Driver License Office Friday to reschedule their appointment or offer alternative services due to a technical issue impacting all state and county driver license offices.
All state and county driver license offices are currently unable to issue driver licenses, instruction permits and identification cards due to an issue with the national Social Security Online Verification System (SSOLV). This system allows the DMV to verify Social Security numbers in compliance with REAL ID.
Online driver license and ID card services are also unavailable at this time.
Services currently available include knowledge tests for instruction permits, endorsements and commercial driver’s license permits, motor vehicle records and requests for a hearing.
Currently, there is no timeline for when in-office and online services will be restored. The DMV will provide updates via its social media pages and DMV.Colorado.gov/locations.
