The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Wednesday shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Highway 94 near New Log Road in El Paso County.

According to information provided by CSP Trooper Joshua Yoder, the driver of a 2010 Chevrolet Colorado, described as a 21-year-old woman, was headed east on Highway 94, and was reported to be passing aggressively prior to the crash.

The vehicle entered the westbound lanes to make another pass when it collided with a 2020 Mack Granite.

The woman died at the scene, while the driver of the Mack, a 58-year-old man, was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

The crash resulted in the closure of Highway 94 for six hours. A hazardous materials team responded to clean up spilled fuel at the scene.
