Lots of people from our area took advantage of the opportunities they had to enjoy the County Fairs in Prowers, Cheyenne or Greeley Counties this past week.  Our grandson Kyle and I went to Tribune Saturday evening for the Ice Cream Social and parade.  Well, it rained on our parade - sheets of rain for about an hour.  They received around 2".  We had 6 tenths in Towner and it was certainly welcome.

Our granddaughter Breeanna went home this past weekend to get ready for school.  She will be a Sophomore at Winfield High School. How fast these young ones grow up.

Karley and Kyle Milberger are here visiting their dad, Scotty Milberger this week.

Jim and Michelle Gibson of Littleton were here visiting her grandparents, Jim and MaryAnn Richardson over the weekend.  They helped them with several chores around the house and yard.

Merle and Carol Shalberg's grandsons, Dawsen and Dalton spent last week with them, helping do some chores around the farm.  They returned home this week to get ready for school to start.

Sure doesn't seem like it should be time to be returning to the class room, but it is.  Plainview students start classes on August 17th.

Week before last, Vern and JoAnn Harris went to Pueblo one day for shopping and eating out.

Congratulations to Morgan Blodgett and Tyler McCracken on their wedding on Saturday, July 30th at the K.A. Hall in Sheridan Lake.

Several people from the area attended the celebration.

Amy and Mikayla Schmidt and Abby Berggren traveled to Sterling, CO to attend the wedding of Hannah Splitter and Garet Koester last Saturday.  Most of the Splitter families attend also. Congratulations!

Week before last, Kelvin, Amy, Mikayla and Alex Schmidt joined Kelvin's family in Branson on vacation.  From there, they traveled to Iowa to attend the wedding of Amy's niece, Carlie Bender.  Bryan, Dorcas and Abby Berggren and Freda Schmidt also attended the wedding.

Congratulations!

Last week, Cheri Hopkins was busy attending the Greeley County Fair activities that her grandchildren were involved in.  She has also been helping Robert Hopkins and Terry Hofmeister with the farming while Evan is recovering from his surgery.  We're glad to hear that you are feeling better Evan.

Susan Greenfield went to Garden City, KS on Friday with Tina Kraft and her mom and an Aunt to do some shopping.  Susan will be helping with the 4-H Exhibit Day in Eads on Monday.

Larry and Judy Tuttle; Burl and Cathy Scherler and Maynard and Dorothy Seaman went to Cheyenne Wells for lunch after church on Sunday.

Monte and Linda Stum were good Samaritans Thursday evening when they helped a lady from Las Vegas, NV when her car quit her, west of Towner.  She was on her way to the National Quilt Show in Nebraska.

Cora Coffman attended the wedding shower for her granddaughter, Kelli Kern Sunday afternoon in Cheyenne Wells.

Saturday before last, Dick and I; Ian and Jerene DeBono; Larry Huddleston and Mike Huddleston hosted the Huddleston Family Reunion in Lamar.  We had around 60 people in attendance.  It was a great day weather wise and we enjoyed playing games, visiting and lots of good food.

Our son Craig, wife Laurie and children, Parker and Mikyla Scott arrived from New Jersey to spend a few days visiting and to attend the family reunion.  Kyle, Breeanna and I took them back to Denver on Monday, where they were visiting with friends before returning home.

Have a great week!
