Guests of Jim and MaryAnn Richardson Thursday through Sunday were:

A week ago Sunday, Monte and Linda Stum hosted a farewell BBQ for Henni, who had been visiting them for the past two weeks.  On Thursday, they took Henni to Denver to fly home to Germany.  Monte and Linda attended the Mini-bull and bronc competition Saturday evening at the Kiowa County Fair.

The High School football game with McClave last Monday was rained out.  They play in Kit Carson this Monday - if no rain.

Susan Greenfield's dad Norman and her brother-in-law, John met her in Eads and took in the fair on Friday and Saturday.

Dick and I enjoyed seeing old friends at the fair, especially JoLynn Gereke.  JoLynn's mom, was a school teacher and Superintendent at the Towner School many years ago.  JoLynn was here to celebrate the Class of 1966's 50th reunion from Eads High School.

Several people from our area enjoyed the Melodrama at the Crow Luther Theatre on Wednesday evening.  The Melodrama was put on by a group from Kit Carson and they did a super job.

Jeff and Sheila Brase of Cheyenne Wells hosted a cookout for all the relatives from both sides of their families.  Everyone had a great time visiting and the food was delicious.

On Sunday, Vern and JoAnn Harris went to Las Animas to help their great-grandsons celebrate their birthdays.  Hunter was 8 years old on Sunday and Ryker will be 3 on Sept. 17th.  Happy Birthday boys!!

Well, the Kiowa County Fair has come and gone for another year. I thought it was a good fair.  The exhibit hall looked so nice with its new paint job; lots of good exhibits; the BBQ and rodeo were good both Friday and Saturday; the Horse racing was fun to watch; The parade was great; There were several vendors to visit; the concession stand served delicious food and lots of people came and enjoyed the fair.  A big thanks to all who made it a success.

A reminder –

  • the birthday calendars are here
  • the Kings Daughter's will be starting their meetings again on Sept. 15th at 7p.m. at the Sheridan Lake Bible Church.

Have a great week
