From the Extension Agent’s Desk – Just a Few Things
Every year, the Southeast Area buys Integrated Resource Management Calendars “Redbooks” for producers. We currently have 20 sitting in the office and they are handed out in a first come first serve fashion. So please hurry in and get yours before they run out!
Congratulations to all of the county 4-Her’s that received awards at this year’s achievement banquet. If you missed it, you missed out on a fantastic spread that featured smoked pull pork prepared by Melissa and Trent Jones. I had to stand up front so I was unable to unbutton my britches to relieve the pain brought on from almost foundering. I would also like to congratulate our new Kiowa County 4-H Council Officers for 2017-2018. Those members are President Molly Stolzenberger, Vice President Rooney Fehr, Secretary Emily Nelson, Treasurer Hatch Nelson, Reporter Chase Stolzenberger, Recreation Leaders Hailey Birt, Gaige Arnold, Zoie Arnold-Kraft, Clayton Nelson, Katherine Trosper, and Selena Fehr. Senators Molly and Emily stayed the same with Rooney filling the alternate spot. Our advisors for the new year are Katharina Fehr and Melissa Jones.
November and December are the time of year that we catch up on reporting and gear up for the next year. Meetings usually rule this time of year as well, so I will be in and out the rest of the year.
As always, please stop in and see us! We wish to serve the county well and your input is always welcome to help us assess your needs. It truly has been an outstanding year and we thank you for all you do. We’re just going to keep getting better!
