Feeling Stretched as a Grandparent Raising Grandchildren?
Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational series designed to provide you with the tools you need to take care of yourself.
This program helps family caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate feelings better, balance their lives, increase their ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources.
Classes consist of six sessions held once a week. Two experienced Class Leaders, Abby Weber and Debbie Chapman, conduct the series. Interactive lessons, discussions and brainstorming will help you take the “tools” you choose and put them into action for your life.
You will receive a book, The Caregiver Helpbook, developed specifically for the class. The $25 cost of each book is being covered by sponsor First National Bank in La Junta.
Classes will be held Wednesdays at the La Junta Senior Center, 114 East 2ndStreet, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. beginning August 29 and ending October 10.
For more information or to register, contact Darla Miller or Debbie Chapman at 719-254-7608. Class size is limited, and pre-registration is required with only a $5 registration fee.
