Carl ‘Eddie’ E. Wilms

October 24, 1944 - January 12, 2026

Carl Edwards (Eddie) Wilms passed away peacefully at home while sleeping Sunday night January 12, 2026.

Eddie was born October 24, 1944 in Burlington to Carl Kasper and Edith Adeline Thompson Wilms.

He was a lifetime resident of Cheyenne Wells, a member of the 1963 graduating class, received a degree in business from Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs, and was in the Army.

Eddie was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He loved life, spending time with family, traveling, gardening, being an entrepreneur, and was a friend to many.

Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and one nephew.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Beverly (Nick) Witt, Melissa (Mike) Snavely, Melvin Wilms, Larry Wilms, Kenny Wilms, Connie (Wayne) Faulkner, Rick Wilms and Shelly Wilms. Eddie is also survived by numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services with full military honors will be held January 17, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the Arapahoe Cemetery in Arapahoe.

Memorial contributions may be made to the William Kimmell VFW Post #9700 in Cheyenne Wells.
