 A funeral liturgy for longtime Lamar resident Catherine Ann Buxton, affectionately known to her family and friends as Cathy, will be held at 10:00 a.m. August 19, 2024, at the Peacock Family Chapel with Deacon Allan Medina reciting. A private family Rite of Committal will be held after the service.

Cathy was born April 28, 1948, at Rawlins, Wyoming, to Edward James and Marie Rose (Oberlander) Wallace and passed away at her home with her family by her side at the age of 76.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Cathy is survived by her children, Tiffany Buxton and Chris Buxton both of Lamar; grandchildren, Sierra Buxton, Blake Buxton, and Cael Buxton of Lamar; and great-granddaughter, Mila Lopez of Lamar. She is also survived by her sister, Terri (Vince) Wallace-DeLaura of Aurora, caretaker and dear friend, Jo Estep; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Southeast Colorado Cancer Initiative and/or the Lamar Area Hospice, either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
