NOTICE FROM THE KIOWA COUNTY ASSESSOR’S OFFICE

Unless you receive further notification by May 1, 2026

the valuation of your property will remain the same value as it was in 2025

REAL PROPERTY APPEAL PROCEDURES:

To preserve your right to appeal the 2026 assessment, you may appeal beginning May 1, 2026.  You must appear in the Kiowa County Assessors’ Office or mail your appeal no later than June 8, 2026

After this date, your right to appeal to the Assessor is waived and lost.  If you have any questions, please contact the

Kiowa County Assessors’ Office at (719) 438-5521 and we will be glad to assist you any possible way we can.

*Please Note: This notice is sent to you in compliance with Paragraph 8 (c) Article X of the Colorado Constitution and in cooperation with Diana Flory, Kiowa County Treasurer. Including this notice in your tax bill saves the taxpayers approximately $3750.00

Notice for the 2025 taxes (payable in 2026)

In recent years, the Colorado Legislature has provided temporary discounts to the actual value of residential and commercial properties ($55,000 & $30,000 respectively). Those reductions have expired for the 2025 tax year. Therefore, even if your value has not changed, you could see a significant increase in your 2025 (payable in 2026) property taxes
