The Brandon Water Association recently exceeded the lead action level in its drinking water during routine sampling.

The EPA has set an action level for lead at 15 parts per billion (ppb) based on the 90^th percentile of all sample results. Our 90^th percentile for lead was 0.032 ppb.

The Brandon Water Association collected five (5) samples. One (1) sample was above the 15 ppb action level. The Brandon Water Association is investigating the cause of the high lead result(s) as well as the corrosivity of the water on plumbing materials within our service area.

As a result of exceeding the lead action level, the Brandon Water Association is required to provide this press release to radio, newspaper, and TV media.
