NOTICE OF 2018 PRIMARY ELECTION
JUNE 26, 2018
In accordance with the Colorado Revised Statutes, Section 1-5- 102.9 and 1-7.5-107 through 1-7.5-210, and 1-5-205, I, Delisa L. Weeks, County Clerk & recorder of Kiowa County, Colorado do hereby give notice that a Primary Election will be held by mail-in ballot on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, for the State of Colorado and local candidates nominated for office. Ballots can be mailed back with the appropriate amount of postage, to Kiowa County Clerk & Recorder, PO. Box 37 or delivered to the County Clerk's Office, in the County Courthouse during regular business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Monday through Friday, and on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. In addition to the hours listed, the Voter Service and Polling Center (VSPC) will be open Saturday, June 23, 2018 - 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The ballot drop box located on the west side of the courthouse will be open 24/7 starting June 4, 2018-June 26, 2018, election night 7:00 p.m.
To mail a ballot to a Voter: The deadline for the County Clerk to receive a mail-in ballot application if a voter is away from home is Monday, June 18, 2018. The last day for an individual to submit a Voter Registration application through the online voter registration system, by mail, voter registration agency is Monday June 18, 2018, in order for the County Clerk's Office to send a ballot via United States Postal Service. All Ballots will be automatically sent to "Active" registered voters during the week of June 4-8, 2018 and NO ballots will be forwarded if your address is incorrect. NEW: Unaffiliated voters will also receive a Ballot "PACKET" that contains both a Democratic and Republican ballot, mark ONE and return ONE of them. If you mark both ballots and return both ballots, neither ballot will be counted.
