Charlotte Lynn

August 2, 1938 – December 27, 2018

Charlotte (Ritchie) Lynn, 80, a resident of Springfield, went to be with her Lord Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Southeast Colorado Hospital Long Term Care Center. Charlotte was born August 2, 1938, to Beatrice and Glen Ritchie in Abilene, Kansas. She was the second oldest of the nine siblings.

As a child, she moved from Kansas to McClave, Colorado. She attended school in McClave, Lamar, and Eads.  

August 28, 1955, she married Gene Lynn in Eads at the family home.  They were blessed with four children: Kathleen (Kathy), Rita, Donald (Don), and Judi. Charlotte enjoyed time with her family.  No one ever went hungry when she was in the kitchen. She was a great seamstress and creative person. She loved decorating her house inside and out at Christmas time.

Charlotte and Gene had many memories of their camping adventures.  She took her card and marble games seriously and looked forward to her regular get together with the girls for their pitch club.

Charlotte had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was proudly baptized.   

She will be sadly missed by her husband Gene Lynn of Springfield, Children: Rita (William) Ownbey of Hutchinson, Kansas, Donald (Emilia) Lynn of Eads, and Judi Lynn of Bowling Green, Kentucky; son-In-Law Harvey Shade of Eads; grandchildren: Tara (Mark) Hager of West Lafayette, Indiana; Brandon (Ryan) Shade of Eagle River, Alaska; Audrey (Adrian) Torres of Evans, Joshua (Lori) Barlow of Shenandoah, Iowa, Kean (Rylee) Ownbey of Valdez, Alaska, Cassandra Lynn of Helena, Montana, Jennifer (Anthony) Voss of Falcon, Shayla (Ian) Sabey of Salt Lake City, Utah, Cody Lynn of Helena, Montana, Jessie Lynn of Bowling Green, Kentucky; siblings: Duane (Carol) Ritchie of Greeley, Richard (Donna) Ritchie of Schaumburg, Illinois, Jerry Ritchie of Lamar, Arnitha (Larry) Frazee of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Bonita (Jim) Sieh of Gillette, Wyoming, Sandy (Marvin) Maltbie of Lamar; and brother-in-law Galan Burnette of Lamar.  Charlotte is survived by 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Charlotte was proceeded in death by her parents; daughter, Kathleen (Kathy) Shade; grandson, Trent Ownbey; and siblings, Valores (Vicki) Sellard and Mary Bea Burnette.

Funeral Services were held December 31, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Springfield. Burial followed at the Eads Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Maltbie Funeral Services in Springfield.
