Obituary – Viola Myrle Salisbury
Viola Myrle (Tucker) Salisbury was born October 26, 1934, to Roy Charles and Beulah Ruth (Jack) Tucker in Chautauqua, Kansas. Vickie, as she was lovingly called, and her family would make their home in the Wichita, Kansas, area, and she attended high school in Wichita.
July 31, 1955, Vickie married Duane W. Salisbury in Albuquerque, New Mexico. To this union five children were born Douglas, Joyce, Jeff, Jay, and Jamie.
The family made their first home in Amarillo, Texas, then moved to Sharon, Oklahoma, Enid, Oklahoma, Kremlin, Oklahoma, Haswell, Colorado, Eads, Colorado, and finally Edmond, Oklahoma.
Vickie was baptized into the Christian faith in 1935. While living in Sharon, she was a member of the South Persimmon Baptist Church, and then became a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Edmond.
Vickie was proud to be called a homemaker. Caring for her family and seeing to their needs was a job that she cherished. She also enjoyed the golf, bowling, horse racing, and following the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team.
In addition to her parents, Vickie was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Salisbury; sons, Douglas and Jay; brothers, Roy Eugene Tucker, Paul Edward Tucker, and Lawrence James Tucker; and sisters, Delores Elaine Stocton and Ester Sue Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory are children, Joyce of Edmond, Jeff of Eads, and Jamie of Hudson, Colorado; sister, Ruth Bertino of Edmond; brother, Robert Tucker of Andover, Kansas, and niece, Debra Flynn of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Vickie also leaves six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren who will miss her hugs and kisses. There are nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends who will miss her presence in their lives.

Graveside services were held October 21, 2022, at Sunnyside Cemetery in Vici.
Arrangements were under the direction of Shaw Funeral Home.
