Billie Allen Beek, 81 of Cheyenne Wells passed away February 12, 2018 at Keefe Memorial Hospital in Cheyenne Wells.

He was born June 16, 1936 in Salida, Colorado to Albert and Margreat Schmidt Beek. He graduated from Cheyenne County High School in 1955 and from Pueblo Junior College in 1957 with a degree in diesel mechanics.

He spent his lifetime doing what he loved - farming and raising cattle in Cheyenne County. Bill was also a diesel mechanic for Bieber's Kay-Jan Equipment Company repairing tractors for many years. Bill was drafted into the army and spent some time serving in Frankfurt, Germany. After a couple of years in the army, Bill returned to Cheyenne Wells continuing to farm 1,280 acres on the home place and eventually began custom farming 10,000 acres for Chris Breitenbach of Dodge City, Kansas.

Billie was married to Janice Elaine Waldron Rhodes August 1, 1980 in Great Falls, Montana. With this marriage, Bill gained a daughter, Naomi.

Bill was a member of the Church of Christ, serving as Treasurer for many years. He was fond of studying his Bible, even more so after he started having health problems. Bill enjoyed tinkering in his shop creating many unique projects, such as yard ornaments including a windmill out of junk, his "Beek" sign, a flower box for Janice, and a seat with wheels that he could move around on while working on his many projects. Bill was a fan of John Wayne and WWII movies as well as Johnny Cash songs.

Bill was always ready and willing to help friends and neighbors. He was a patient and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, however that did not stop him from having a lot of fun pulling April Fool pranks and teasing not only family members but also pets as well.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Wilber Wayne Benham. He is survived by His wife Janice of the home, daughter, Naomi Phillips of Eads, Colorado, grandchildren Keene Lair of Denver, Colorado and Trista Wood of Pueblo, Colorado, three sisters, Vodean Benham of Littleton, Colorado, Marjorie and Charles Benham of Arvada, Colorado and Melvena and Dexter Benham of Florence, Colorado as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
