Etha Martinson

June 3, 1940 - October 9, 2016

A graveside funeral service for longtime Lamar resident, Etha Martinson, will be held at 11:00 AM Friday October 14, 2016 at the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar with Reverend Kathy Leathers of the Holly United Methodist Church officiating.

Per Etha’s request there will be no public visitation.

Etha Martinson was born on June 3, 1940 in Eads, Colorado to Lloyd John Barr and Susan Waneta Woodmanse-Barr and departed this life on Sunday October 9, 2016 at her home in Lamar with her family by her side at the age of 76.

Etha was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; by one brother – Charles Barr and by her in-laws – Bob and Phyllis Bressler; Charlie and Delores Page; and Marian Martinson.

Etha is survived by her husband Carl Martinson of the family home; by five children- Susan Hickman; Shirley Razey; and Sherry Scofield all of Lamar; Sammi (Bob) Galvan of Alamogordo, NM; and Lloyd (Stephanie) Martinson of Lamar; by 19 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; by one sister – Rossetta (Al) Turner of Basset, NE; cousin – Irene (Roy) McKnight of Parker, CO; and sister-in-law Joyce Barr of Alameda, CA; as well as numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Lamar Area Hospice or to the Southeast Colorado Cancer Initiative either directly or through the funeral home office.
