Joyce Lee Parker, 79, died March 16, 2024, at Lane County Hospital in Dighton, Kansas. She was born August 26, 1944, to James Oliver and Darlene (Cathcart) Osborn

Joyce attended school in several places including Lamar, Holly, and Syracuse, Kansas.

She married Harry Norman Parker July 15, 1961, at Holly.

After her marriage, she and her husband moved to Lane County, where she assisted Norman in managing and running the Garvey Elevator.

She enjoyed gardening, landscaping, her flowers, woodworking, and spoiling her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed taking in and caring for stray animals.

She is survived by her husband, Norman Parker; sons, Kevin & Korinna Parker of Hays, Kansas, and Ferris and Stephanie Parker of Dighton; brother, Randy Osborn of Lamar; sisters, Rosie Vana of Texhoma, Oklahoma, Karen Chick of Ulysses, and Nancy Repshire of Lamar; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren with two more coming.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kerrie D. Parker; brothers, James Osborn and Ronnie Osborn; and sisters, Janet Lane and Peggy Osborn.

Graveside services were held at the Dighton Memorial Cemetery in Dighton with Rev. Mike Bremer officiating.

Memorials are suggested to Finney County Humane Society in care of Boomhower Funeral Home.

Arrangements were under the direction of Boomhower Funeral Home.
