Michael Paul Davis Sr. was born on May 5, 1944 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Fredrick and Beverly Davis and passed away unexpectedly on December 14, 2015 at his home in Haswell, Colorado at the age of 71.
Michael attended Milwaukee High School and began working as an auto mechanic soon after high school. He later worked in a wrecking yard where he drove a tow truck and also continued to work as a auto mechanic. In 1965, he married Diane Daniel in Chippewa Falls, WI and they later divorced. To this union were born: Theresa, Trina, Brenda, Marie, Michael Jr. and Wendy. Mike worked as an over the road trucker driving for Swift Trucking Company. He later became a mechanic for Swift and eventually began working in the slaughterhouse. In 1988, he went to work for Monford Packing in Garden City, Kansas and later moved to Woodward, Oklahoma where he was a maintenance man for a trailer court. In 1990, he moved to Hasty, Colorado where he began working for Reyer Farms feeding cattle and farming. In 1998, Mike moved to Haswell, Colorado and began working for Ron Howe farming and ranching and resided there until his untimely passing.
Mike enjoyed being a mechanic, watching westerns, drinking coffee, spending time with his dogs, but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his kids and grandchildren.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, his second wife, Diane Daniel Davis, his fourth wife, Mary Ann Davis, his daughter, Theresa Garwood and his grandson Jonathan Wymore. Michael is survived by his wife Stephanie Embrey Davis of Haswell, CO, his children: Michael Davis Jr. of Syracuse, KS, Trina Wymore of Augusta, WI, Brenda Perry of Havre, MT, Marie Perras of Missoula, MT and Wendy Davis of Billings, MT. Michael is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, stepson, Kenny Smith of Colorado, 3 stepdaughters: Chrissy (Bob) Duncan of Olney Springs, CO, Heather Trimble of Las Animas, CO, Jennifer Berry of Haswell, CO as well as by many other family members and friends.
A reception honoring Michael's life will be held on Saturday January 9, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Haswell Community Building in Haswell.
