Robert V. Laird, 85

A celebration of life funeral service for Lamar resident, formerly of Eads, Robert V. Laird, affectionately known to many as Bob, will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday June 2, 2016 at the Lamar Christian Church with Ian Blacker officiating.  Burial will take place at 2:30 PM on Thursday at the Eads Cemetery in Eads, Colorado.

Visitation for Bob was held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Wednesday June 1, 2016 at the Peacock Family Chapel in Lamar.

Bob was born on September 10, 1930 in Swink, Colorado to Harold A. and Eileen Silliman-Laird and departed this life on Friday May 27, 2016 in Pueblo, Colorado at the age of 85.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; by his first wife – Dolores Sibcy-Laird; and by two sisters – Wanda Heironymus and Shirley Cunningham.

Bob is survived by his wife – Janet Laird of Lamar; by five children – Terry (Areta) Laird of Eads; Cheree Mahan of San Antonio, TX; Melodie (Kirby) Lloyd of Billings, Montana; Stephanie Frank of Sublette, KS; and Gina (Brad) Grasmick of Windsor, CO; by ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; by his siblings – Alice Francis of San Diego, CA; Janette Vick of Nacogdoches, TX and Kenneth (Glenda) Roe of Lamar, by a step brother – Ken (Glenda) Roe of Lamar; by two brothers-in-law – John Heironymus of Gunnison and Orla Ray Cunningham of Security, CO; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
