Obituary - Timothy J. Hier

Timothy Joseph Hier of Eads passed away December 13, 2025. Tim was born on November 1, 1949, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Dorlen and Frances (Juricek) Hier, and grew up on a farm near Sterling, Nebraska.
Tim graduated from Sterling Public High School, where he excelled academically and in sports. Tim married his lifelong love, Lonnie (Yolanda Chiles) in 1970.
In 2005, he retired from working at the United States Post Office after 35 years. Tim later worked as a realtor, and for State Farm Insurance.
Tim enjoyed watching sports and playing softball and golf. Tim also served six years in the Nebraska National Guard. Tim and Lonnie shared a great love for dogs, especially dachshunds, and owned many through the years.
They moved to Littleton in 1998, and they eventually retired to Eads, where they developed many friends within the community.
Tim is survived by sons, Christopher Hier and daughter-in-law Chrissy, and Jeremy Hier and friend Amanda Páez, both of Lincoln; grandchildren, Tyler Hier, Elijah Hier, Easton Hier, Alysha Hier, Austin, and Katie; brothers, Dan Hier and wife Sara of Nebraska, Mark Hier (Martell), Paul Hier and friend Judi Palma, of Anchorage, Alaska; sister-in-law, Jill Hier of Lincoln; sisters, Kathy Jolly and husband Carroll of Omaha, Sue Weyers and friend Ben House of Des Moines, Iowa, Marti Thomson and husband Dan of Palmyra, and Elizabeth Rowe and husband Dennis of Pleasant Dale; brother-in-law, Jim Chiles and wife Kris of Lincoln; and by a multitude of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Hier and Skeet Hier; and sisters-in-law, JoAnn Hier and Catherine Hier.
A Celebration of Life in Eads will be held February 7, 2026, at 11:00 at the Eads Senior Citizen Center.
Memorial contributions may be made in Tim's name to the Eads Senior Citizen Center.
