- About Town- Melissa Peterson & Doris Lessenden: Tulips are poking up, trees are beginning to bud, and the woodchuck saw his shadow. I guess spring is around the corner.
- The City of Lamar and Colorado Division of Wildlife will co-host the Seventh Annual High Plains Goose Festival.
25 Years Ago - February 5, 1999
- About Town- Ida Lessenden: Lena Whaley crocheted another Afghan for the Lynas Project Fund. Her generosity helps the committee to buy more fabrics and supplies to make quilts for children who are seriously ill.
- USDA Update- Rod Johnson: Kiowa County was very fortunate in 1998 and had very few crop loses so this will greatly simplify the disaster program.
40 Years Ago - February 10, 1984
- The Travel Supplement of the Rocky Mountain News featured Eads in its February 5 edition, complete with pictures.
- Dr. Hadley and Dr. Fuhrman’s office in Eads is now hook up with the main Southeast Colorado Health Care Association computer located in Lamar by a data phone line.
50 Years Ago - February 8, 1974
- Kiowa County property tax was up 1.66% for 1974.
- H. Gene Koch, Eads native, is among the group of flight controllers supporting Skylab IV, longest manned space flight mission in history.
75 Years Ago - February 4, 1949
- Mrs. Chas. Peck announced she will open a bake shop at her home and take orders for Saturday delivery.
- We experienced the coldest temperature of the year at -18. Very little wind was experienced.
