- Daniel Weirich, Eads High School freshman this past year, competed in the USA Track & Field Regional meet, won the shot put throw of 19’7” and placed second in discus throw of 137’

- Katie Williams was awarded the Marilyn Spiker Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is for any woman entering her first or second year of college, technical or specialized study in a field related to agriculture.
40 Years Ago - July 17, 1985
- The Colorado winter wheat crop will be much larger than predicted, a record 135.5 million bushels, due in large part to farmers increasing the acreage.
- Nursing Home News- LaVerne Fischer: Our Karval Keenagers were here to entertain. Our residents say this was especially good program.
50 Years Ago - July 18, 1975
The Colorado Division of Wildlife Commission voted to retain its 2,097 shares of Catlin Canal water to be used for recreational purpose in southeast Colorado.
75 Years Ago - 1950
- The Missouri-Pacific Railroad removed the coal chute, a landmark of the area, after converting their train to diesel power.
- L.A. Bransgrove will open a new drug store in Eads with the completion of repairs of the Nipps building. The Nipps building now houses the Pioneer Café & First National Bank.
100 Years Ago - 1925
- The Independent Creamery Station, with S.D. Christian as manager, is busing caring for the cream that is brought in by farmers.
