- Wild Horse Roundup- Curtis Schrimp: I found out it sure gets dark when the electricity goes out. I lit two candles so I wouldn’t get too scared in the dark.
- The Weisbrod Witches were having a bake sale to help support Relay for Life and American Cancer Society.
25 Years Ago - June 9, 2000
- The first Yard of The Month was won by Lyle and Judy Beeson. The Town of Eads started the Yard of the Month in April. First place wins $15 off their water bill.
- USDA Update- Rod Johnson: The County Committee is gathering data to see if we can qualify for emergency grazing on CRP.
40 Years Ago - June 7, 1985
- Colorado Parks and Wildlife announced a public emergency fish salvage operation will begin at Two Buttes Reservoir as the reservoir is going dry.
- The First Eads Appreciation Day, sponsored by the Eads Chamber of Commerce, was termed a big success.
50 Years Ago - June 6, 1975
- With new funding, the Kiowa County Department of Social Services will be able to stay open until July 1, at which time a new fiscal year begins.
- The third Annual Parade through town, a wiener roast at the church yard, and film started the Bible School in Sheridan Lake.
75 Years Ago - 1950
- Nine boys from Eads and Chivington had the unique experience of assembling with some 47,000 other Boy Scouts in Valley Forge, VA.
100 Years Ago - 1925
- Whitelaw & Company have been displaying bathing suits in their windows. They make a fellow’s teeth chatter on cold days.
