15 Years Ago - October 15, 2010

• The Eads Class of 1959 held their 51^st reunion in Branson, Missouri. Ten classmates were able to attend.
• East End Events- Sharon Scott: Twenty-one teams participated in the Knowledge Bowl held at Plainview.

25 Years Ago - October 20, 2000

• Karaoke Night was held at The County Seat.
• Seventeen new trees were established during the year south of the Community Building at the Fairgrounds. This was made possible by grants and matching funds as well as donated material and in-kind services.

40 Years Ago - October 18, 1985

• The Kiowa County Commissioners voted to adopt the proposal to increase property taxes for the 1985 tax year.

50 Years Ago - October 17, 1975

• Eads Town Council passed an ordinance prohibiting alcoholic beverages in public places or in motor vehicles.
• A deteriorating and leaky outlet pipe at Karval reservoir has drained the reservoir of nearly all water leaving fish stranded in a half-acre size pool of water.

75 Years Ago - October 20, 1950

• Wayne Jones of Jones Implement Company announced a Big Stage Show to be given at the high school gym.

100 Years Ago – 1925

• Sheridan Lake: The Atwater-Kent Radio installed by Howard Bamble in a local store for the World Series Baseball game has been greatly appreciated by our baseball fans.
