  • Bill & Linda Trosper own two bulls listed in the Spring 2011 Sire Evaluation Report published by the America Angus Association.
  • Taylor Weirich and Justin Lenox will be competing in the state wrestling tournament.
  • Wild Horse Roundup- Curtis Schrimp: Mike, the mailman, said he seen a bobcat run across the road east of here. My neighbor, Bill, said he had seen one by his house.
  • Kit Carson Clips- Marilyn White: Tony Mitchell’s 4-H project raising Banta chickens which he had made pets of. Howard checked out a noise in the bathroom and found four chickens. Tony was worried they might freeze and brought them inside.

  • About Town- Ida Lessenden: The Valentine dance sponsored by the Haswell town board was well attended and enjoyed by those who braved the fog to attend.

40 Years Ago - February 14, 1986

  • The Eads Chamber of Commerce is offering cash reward for new businesses established in Kiowa County.
  • Weisbrod Hospital and Nursing Home has been granted a change of licensure by the Colorado Department of Health which will allow the nursing home to increase its capacity.

50 Years Ago - February 131976

  • Weisbrod Memorial Hospital was found to be in non-compliance with rules that require a doctor in the hospital at least once every 24 hours.
  • Eldon Gulley announced the entire front of the First National Bank, including the lobby, teller station and executive office would be renovated.
  • The bond issue to build a $325,000 gymnasium at Kit Carson wound up in a tie--again

75 Years Ago - February 16, 1951

  • The Towner 4-H Club placed in the State Blue Award Group in Rural Arts and Recreation Contest.
