  • USDA Update: Due to the budget crisis on the federal level, this office received word it will lose temporary employees.
  • Bonney Lake to hold 4th Annual Dutch Oven and Chili Cook-off June 18.

25 Years Ago - June 1, 2001

  • USDA Update- Rod Johnson: Severe weather bounced around Kiowa County. Numerous tornadoes were spotted throughout the county.
  • Wild Horse Roundup- Curtis Schrimp: Couple of our ropers went to Amarillo, Texas, and must have put on a show. Jack Wilson and Chuck Keller each won a nice saddle.

40 Years Ago - May 30, 1986

  • Eads High school has 17 graduates, Kit Carson 8, and 7 graduates from Plainview.

50 Years Ago - May 28, 1976

  • Kiowa County Clerk Wayne Singer's biography has been selected to appear in the Centennial Edition of “Who’s Who” in Colorado.

100 Years Ago - May 28, 1926

  • The Kiowa County Press completed a 24 page booklet advertising Eads and vicinity for the purpose of advertising Eads and Kiowa County, and will send to any who desire them for 25c postpaid.
  • Haswell Hummings: A big crowd went to blue lakes to the school picnic
