- Doris Forsyth & Ruth Wissel of the Kiowa County Library announced the library had been awarded a $200 grant from the State Historical Society to purchase microfilm copies of all censuses taken of Kiowa County.

- Haswell Notes- Doris Forsyth: Words to describe the weather are becoming monotonous- snow every day and temperatures ranging from -10 to 10 to 15 degrees above zero.
- The Colorado Public Utilities Commission has granted UPS temporary authority to provided package delivery service between all addresses within the state.
- Beginning February 1,1973, Strategic Air Command B-52 and FB-111 bombers will fly low-level practice bombing missions against simulated targets near Paxton, Nebraska and Cheyenne Wells.

December 15, 1922
- Two young men were speeding down the Kansas Colorado Boulevard on their happy way to Eads, a nice little cargo of contraband snugly stowed away under the back seat and a smile on their lips, little knowing what was in store for them even before arriving in our fair city. Sheriff McCracken overtook them a mile or so this side of Kit Carson and they peacefully accompanied him to Eads for a few days free board.
