Town of Eads Board of Trustees meeting minutes - November 14, 2023

The Regular Meeting of the Town of Eads Board of Trustees was called to order by Mayor Shields, Monday November 14, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. in the Town Hall. Robin Fox took roll call:

  • Mayor – Joe D. Shields- Present VI ZOOM
  • Trustees – Present –Dennis Pearson, Stephanie Sewell ( VI ZOOM), Tuck Liebl , Kathy McCracken and Fred Derby
  • Absent – Justin McLoud
  • Town Clerk- Robin Fox
  • Assistant Clerk- Mikahael McCracken
  • Director of Public Works-Van Brown- Trent Rittgers
  • Town Attorney – Lance Clark – Absent

Minutes­- Kathy McCracken moved to approve the minutes as presented. Fred Derby seconded, motion passed unanimously.

Approval of Bills – The finance committee reviewed the bills prior to the meeting. Kathy McCracken moved to approve payment of the bills. Tuck Liebl seconded, motion passed unanimously.

New Business- Air-Med contract was presented and Tuck Liebl moved to approve the yearly contract. Fred Derby seconded, motion passed unanimously.

Port-to-Plains – was presented with a roll call vote Kathy  NO, Tuck NO, Dennis YES, Fred YES, Stephanie NO, motion did not pass with 3 NO and 2 yes.

Raises- The board decided to discuss the raises that had been tabled. A 3% raise will be given to Van, Robin, and Mikahael. With much discussion the board decided to give Trent a $20.00 hour pay, and new full time employee will receive $18.00 an hour. Part time will make minimum wage. Kathy McCracken moved to approve these raises, Fred Derby seconded, motion passed unanimously.

Tuck brought up that Trent has been working alone since August and he felt that Trent should be awarded something. They decided to give Trent a $10,000.00 bonus with the signing of a 2 year contract to stay with the Town. Trent agreed to this and thanked the board for the kind generous bonus. Tuck made the motion to give this bonus, Stephanie Sewell seconded, motion passed unanimously.

Christmas Gifts- It was agreed to stay with what last year’s gifts were. These will be in Eads bucks as they have been in the past.

Health Insurance- It was agreed that we should only do a 30 day waiting period rather than 60 days. Robin will send the insurance company a letter stating this change.

Adjournment- Meeting was adjourned 6:01 P.M.
