Town of Eads Board of Trustees Meeting October 10, 2017

The Regular Meeting of the Town of Eads Board of Trustees was called to order by Mayor Shields, Tuesday October 10, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. in the City Hall. Robin Fox, Town Clerk, took roll call:

Mayor – Joe D. Shields- present

Trustees – Present –Justin McLoud, Dennis Pearson, Kathy McCracken, Terry Riley, Lisa Trigilio, and Priscilla Waggoner

Absent –

Town Clerk- Robin Fox –Present

Assistant Clerk- Shealynn McCracken-Present

Director of Public Works- Van Brown- Present

Audiences/Public Comment Period – Cindy McLoud let the board know about the housing needs assessment meeting that will be at the Cobblestone Inn on October 16th from 1-3 p.m.

Minutes­- Dennis Pearson moved to approve the minutes. Justin McLoud seconded, motion passed unanimously.

Approval of Bills – The finance committee reviewed the bills prior to the meeting. Kathy McCracken moved to approve payment of the bills in the packet, as presented at the meeting. Lisa Trigilio seconded, the motion passed unanimously.

Old Business:

Water Project- The Director of Public Works updated the board on the water project, and explained that it is getting close to being finished.   

Sylvia Shields- The board asked Sylvia Shields to come back to discuss more about her project. Mayor Shields excused himself from the meeting at this time.

New Business:

Donna Davis- Donna Davis with the Colorado State Forest Service gave a summary of what she did this summer with the grant the town received.

David Kraft- Avery Snover, a member of the City Fire Department, presented the board with a new member application. Kathy McCracken moved to approve the new member, Justin McLoud seconded, motion passed unanimously. David Kraft, the City Fire Chief, was also present to update the board about the fire department.

Building Permit- The Town Clerk presented a building permit to the board. Justin McLoud moved to approve the permit as long as the party agrees to move part of the structure 1 ½ foot back. Dennis Pearson seconded, motion passed unanimously.

Budget- The budget was presented to the board. The board will have a budget workshop on October 24th @ 4:00 p.m. to go over the budget.

Madison Kelley- Madison Kelley was in attendance to request the Town to help with the bonfire clean-up on the morning of Friday, October 20,, 2017. The board all agreed by consensus.

J&J Liquor License- The Town Clerk presented the liquor license to the board. Terry Riley moved to approve the liquor license. Lisa Trigilio seconded, motion passed unanimously.

Bev & David Lyon- Bev & David Lyon were present to talk to the board about a credit for their overpayment. Priscilla Waggoner moved to give a credit to Mr. and Mrs. Lyon because of their overpayment, Kathy McCracken seconded, motion passed unanimously.

Casey Sheridan- Casey Sheridan was not present at the meeting to speak.

Bring-Up Items:

The Town Clerk asked the board if she could put in how many Turkeys she would need for the board members, the employees, and fire department. Lisa Trigilio moved to allow the town clerk to put in the order, but let there be a choice between hams or turkeys, Kathy McCracken seconded, motion passed unanimously.

Justin McLoud brought up a concern about the ditch on the east end of town, the Director of Public Works said that it will be getting taken care of.

Adjourn- The meeting adjourned at 6:25 p.m.
