Renewable fuels industry stakeholders and supporters wondered throughout late last year and the first months of this if an emergency waiver would be granted to allow gasoline blended with 15 percent ethanol to be sold in the summer months.
We were grateful the administration granted the emergency waiver yet again in 2023 to be used nationwide, but we still don't have a permanent solution in place.
We've got lucky the last couple years because we've had emergency waivers to get us through that summertime barrier, but those conditions aren't always going to be around.

Friday they learned the Environmental Protection Agency granted a nationwide E15 emergency waiver for the third consecutive summer.
EPA citing conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East for their decision.
The emergency fuel waiver goes into effect May 1st.
