Colorado and the cities of Englewood and Denver face a lawsuit for a law and its enforcement regarding speech outside of abortion clinics.

Visitation for Mary Cathileen Beek will be held Monday from 5-7 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Cheyenne Wells.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Wells Of Faith Church in Cheyenne Wells.  Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Cheyenne Wells.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.

In the spring, in areas where they grow, wild onions can be used in place of green onions. Yellow or white onions work as well.

The question of whether nature, encompassing plants and animals, should possess rights is a complex and contentious one.

Carol Marie Ackerman of Cheyenne Wells passed away May 29, 2023, at her home in Cheyenne Wells.

No public services are being planned at this time.

Ms. Ackerman is survived by her brothers, Tom (Liz) Ackerman of Cheyenne Wells and Gene Ackerman of Houston, Texas; and sister, Kay Ackerman of Cheyenne Wells.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cheyenne Wells Senior Citizens Center.

Work is underway to replace a bridge and realign a segment of US 385.
