When Charlotte Woelk brought some publications and greeting cards to me Monday, she told me, “The lake has water in it.” I asked, “do you mean Sheridan Lake?” “Yes,” I am glad for the farmers and people at the east end of our county who were blessed with about two inches of rain! That must have been the morning our CAN nurse, Brenda Leon, from Tribune, Kansas, started out for Eads to work at the hospital. She started in the dark but started to skid off the road because of hail and ice, so she returned home and waited till daylight to come to work. We were glad when she arrived safely. She is one of those “gems” we have here at Weisbrod.

Pastor and Mrs. Jim Canaday, who serve as Village Missionaries at Sheridan Lake, went to Nebraska to officiate the wedding of Zach Liebl to his new bride. We wish them God’s blessings. They will return to Eads to make their home.

I am so happy for two of the finest young men I have known, who will graduate from Eads High School, because they have received the coveted Daniel’s Scholarship. They are Case Nelson and Collin Nelson. What an honor!

Trista and Chad Tuttle’s store on the corner of Maine and 13th Street in Eads as many interesting arts and crafts to offer as well as floral and gift items. Best of all, this month, guys can order tuxedos for the prom that is April 26. If Trista is not in her shop, just call her 719-510-0138

Reports have been posted that the Eads High school girls golf team is doing well on various courses. Preston Courkamp is assisting the three girls because head golf boys coach Justin McLoud is busy coaching our boys team too.

The girls and boys track teams of Eads and surrounding schools ae spending long hours practicing and attending meets around the state. Our baseball team has also been playing. They are ranked number three in Class 1A with an 8-0 record. I counted seven ladies in wheelchairs Tuesday afternoon looking intently up at the television to see the boys baseball game with Wiley.

The Baccalaureate service for Eads seniors will be May 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the First Christian Church.

A great deal of planning went into hosting the annual Health Fair last weekend, which was held at the Eads Elementary School. Thank you to the Weisbrod Leadership Staff and community volunteers.
