Ag stats: June 2020 USDA mountain states agricultural prices received report

June Prices Received Index Up 0.9 Percent 

The June Prices Received Index 2011 Base (Agricultural Production), at 107.3, increased 0.9 percent from May and 22 percent from June 2020. At 107.1, the Crop Production Index was up 1.4 percent from last month and 20 percent from the previous year. The Livestock Production Index, at 107.6, increased 0.7 percent from May and 24 percent from June last year. Producers received higher prices during June for cattle, hogs, lettuce, and corn but lower prices for milk, strawberries, oranges, and soybeans. In addition to prices, the volume change of commodities marketed also influences the indexes. In June, there was increased monthly movement for wheat, hay, peaches, and corn and decreased marketing of strawberries, milk, broilers, and oranges. 

June Prices Paid Index Up 0.9 Percent 

The June Prices Paid Index for Commodities and Services, Interest, Taxes, and Farm Wage Rates (PPITW), at 115.1, is up 0.9 percent from May 2021 and 6.8 percent from June 2020. Higher prices in June for feeder cattle, nitrogen, repairs, and LP gas more than offset lower prices for feeder pigs, concentrates, supplements, and wage rates.
