Ag stats: Kansas crop progress and condition report – week ending November 7, 2021
For the week ending November 7, 2021, there were 5.3 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 10% very short, 21% short, 65% adequate, and 4% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 11% very short, 26% short, 60% adequate, and 3% surplus.
Field Crops Report: Winter wheat condition rated 2% very poor, 5% poor, 31% fair, 51% good, and 11% excellent. Winter wheat planted was 95%, near 97% last year and 94% for the five-year average. Emerged was 80%, near 83% last year and 79% average.
Corn harvested was 93%, equal to last year, and near 91% average.
Soybeans harvested was 79%, behind 89% last year, and near 82% average.
Sorghum harvested was 78%, behind 83% last year, but ahead of 73% average.
Cotton condition rated 1% very poor, 6% poor, 43% fair, 47% good, and 3% excellent. Cotton harvested was 17%, behind 29% last year, and near 21% average.
Sunflowers harvested was 82%, ahead of 77% last year and 67% average.
Pasture and Range Report: Pasture and range conditions rated 7% very poor, 17% poor, 39% fair, 36% good, and 1% excellent.
