This past week: Tuesday through Friday, the junior high basketball competed in its last game of the season (Tuesday, February 6) at Alta Vista. The Hawks played well but came short of a victory.

Friday, February 9, the junior high knowledge team competed at the Campo Knowledge Meet. The Hawks placed fourth; La Junta 7 placed first, Holly 7 placed second, and Walsh 7 placed third. The Hawks have two more meets: March 1 at Manzanola and March 8 at Burlington.

This weekend (Saturday) the high school indoor track team has its last meet of the season at Western State College.

February 28, the high school and junior students will be competing at the Regional Science Fair in Lamar. All the students who competed in the local science fair will be competing at the regional level.

All teachers are Magic School AI Level 2 or 3 Certified. Magic School AI is a set of tools for assisting teachers with developing lesson plans, designing assignments, generating materials, creating newsletters, and several other tasks.

The elementary students have been busy with art and other specials. The students were able to paint on canvases under the direction of Nevelda Blodgett-Vanderpool.  The students will resume enrichment Friday on February 16. This Friday will involve a Paleontologist Starter Kit (K-2) (3-5) and a Remote Control Snake Robot (6-8).
