America 250 - Colorado 150 Commission to hold informational session

In 2026, America will celebrate its 250th anniversary, the nation’s Semiquincentennial. The same year, Colorado will celebrate its 150th, its Sesquicentennial. These twin anniversaries, named the “Sesquisemiquincentennial,” present an opportunity for Coloradans to pause, reflect upon, and honor what makes the Centennial State unique. 

Southeast Colorado communities are encouranged to undertake diverse, imaginative efforts to remember and share the state’s past and visualize a unified future as to commemorate the nation and state’s collective journey, and look ahead to look ahead for the Sesquisemiquincentennial.

Community members are invited to join the statewide America 250 - Colorado 150 Commission and advisory panel for an in-person discussion about how local organizations can participate in these anniversaries.
