Bush Brothers & Company, which produces a variety of canned baked bean products, has issued a voluntary nation-wide recall of three products due to what the company calls a potentially defective side seam on the cans.

Brown Sugar Hickory Baked Beans, Country Style Baked Beans and Original Baked Beans in 28 ounce cans are subject to the recall. All have a best by date of June 2019.

The company says the recall was prompted when internal quality assurance checks revealed the issue. A can supplier suffered a quality issued that has since been corrected. No illnesses or other issues related to the defective cans have been reported.

Consumers are urged to dispose of any affected cans, and retailers are pulling the affected products from store shelves. Questions about the recalled products can be directed to Bush Brothers & Company at 800-590-3797 Monday through Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. mountain time. Information is also available at bushbeans.com.
