A CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
(NOTICE BY PUBLICATION)
PROPOSED KIOWA COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, and, particularly, to the electors of the proposed Kiowa County Fire Protection District of Kiowa County, Colorado.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a General Election will be held on the 8th day of November, 2016, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. At that time 5 (five) directors will be elected to the Board of Directors of the Kiowa County Fire Protection District if the District’s formation is approved by the electorate. Three directors for Director Districts will be elected to serve 4-year terms (to May 2020) and 2 (two) directors At Large will be elected to serve 2-year terms (to May 2018).
One Director will be elected from each of the following three Kiowa County Commissioner Districts:
District 1 within the County of Kiowa
West Boundary: NW corner of Section 4, T17S, R46W following Sand Creek to the SW corner of Section 32, T20S, R45W of the 6th Principal Meridian.
South Boundary: From SW corner of Section 32, T20S, R45W proceed East on County Road A to SE corner of Section 31, T20S, R42W of the 6th Principal Meridian.
East Boundary: From SE corner of Section 31, T20S, R42W proceed North on County Road 80 to center of Section 5, T17S, R42W of the 6th Principal Meridian.
North Boundary: From the center of Section 5, T17S, R42W proceed West on County Road BB to NW corner of Section 4, T17S, R46W of the 6th Principal Meridian.
District 2 within the County of Kiowa
West Boundary: NW corner of Section 2, T17S, R51W following County Road 2 South to the SW corner of Section 35, T20S, R51W of the 6th Principal Meridian.
South Boundary: From SW corner of Section 35, T20S, R51W proceed East on County Road A to SE corner of Section 31, T20S, R46W of the 6th Principal Meridian.
East Boundary: From SE corner of Section 31, T20S, R46W following Sand Creek North to the NE corner of Section 5, T17S, R46W of the 6th Principal Meridian.
North Boundary: From the NE corner of Section 5, T17S, R46W proceed West on County Road BB to NW corner of Section 2, T17S, R51W of the 6th Principal Meridian.
District 3 within the County of Kiowa
West Boundary: NW corner of Section 6, T18S, R54W South to the SW corner of Section 31, T19S, R54W East to the NW corner of Section 6, T20S,R54W proceed South to the SW corner of Section 31, T20W, R54W of the 6th Principal Meridian.
South Boundary: From the SW corner of Section 31, T20W, R54W proceed East on County Road A to SE corner of Section 34, T20S, R51W of the 6th Principal Meridian.
East Boundary: From SE corner of Section 34, T20S, R51W proceed North on County Road 23 to NE corner of Section 3, T17S, R51W of the 6th Principal Meridian.
North Boundary: From the NE corner of Section 3, T17S, R51W proceed West on County Road BB to NW corner of Section 6, T17S, R51W proceed South on County Road 19 to SW corner of Section 31, T17S, R51W proceeding West on County Road V to NW corner of Section 6, T18S, R54W of the 6th Principal Meridian.
Eligible electors of the proposed Kiowa County Fire Protection District interested in serving on the board of directors may obtain a Self-Nomination and Acceptance form from the District Designated Election Official (DEO):

The completed Self-Nomination forms must be received by the DEO no later than noon on Wednesday, August 24, 2016. The Office of the DEO is open on the following days: Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If the DEO determines that a Self-Nomination and Acceptance form is not sufficient, the eligible elector who submitted the form may amend the form once, at any time, prior to close of business on Wednesday, August 24, 2016.
Affidavit of Intent to Be a Write-In-Candidate forms must be submitted to the office of the designated election official by noon on Friday, August 26, 2016.
