We would like extend our sincere appreciation to the many people who came to our aid during the recent fires in Kiowa County.  Those who quickly stepped up in our time of need were fire departments from Eads, Towner, Sheridan Lake,  Las Animas, Hasty, Lamar Rural, City of Lamar, Wiley, Kit Carson, and Cheyenne Wells;  Road & Bridge employees  from Kiowa County as well as  Kit Carson  and Cheyenne Wells , Sheriff's deputies from Kiowa and Prowers Counties, and the many community members who hauled tankers of water, brought in their tractors and other equipment as well as those who helped with evacuations.  We would also like to thank Bent County dispatch,  without you none of this could have come together as smoothly as it did, you are our lifeline.

We are very fortunate to have such wonderful neighbors in Eastern Colorado who work tirelessly  to  ensure the safety of our communities.  Thank you for all you do.
