Cheyenne Mountain State Park Re-Opens After Weather Damage

Colorado Parks and Wildlife

Cheyenne Mountain State Park is open after sustaining damage during a storm January 9. Further damage was also sustained during high winds the following evening.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife staff thanks the public for their patience, and utilities crews who worked hard to make the needed repairs.

Due to debris strewn across the park, CPW asks visitors to be cautious on the trails. The park is sending a large crew of sawyers and volunteers out on the trails checking, clearing and addressing any hazards. We are asking visitors to report any hazards to the visitor center or a staff member immediately.

Swift Puma, the winter campground loop, remains closed because of damage. Existing reservations, or any incoming campers, will be routed to Raptor Glen.

Cheyenne Mountain State Park will be hosting an annual race sponsored by the Pikes Peak Roadrunners on Saturday. A number of trails on the south side of the park will be closed to the public from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
