Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) is seeking volunteers for its Sportsperson's Roundtable. The group shares ideas on key wildlife management and recreation issues.

The Roundtable is now taking applications from sportspeople in the Northwest, Northeast and Southwest regions. CPW wants members from around the state so the group stays geographically diverse.

CPW depends on feedback from hunters and anglers to make the best decisions about managing fish, wildlife and habitat. To gather ideas, the agency holds a statewide Sportsperson's Roundtable and regional sportsperson meetings. The Roundtable gives hunters, anglers and trappers a place to share information on wildlife recreation and management in Colorado.

Members serve two-year terms. They take part in a half- to full-day in-person meeting twice a year. They also join occasional virtual meetings. Members pay their own travel costs to in-person meetings.

Members also attend regional CPW Sportsperson's meetings and other meetings with hunters, anglers and trappers in their area. They are expected to keep strong ties with fellow sportspeople and stay informed about current events and new issues.

Members help pick topics for Roundtable meetings. They share information and ideas with other members and CPW staff during and between meetings. Members must also list their contact information on the CPW Roundtable webpage. They must be available to sportspeople around the state to discuss Roundtable matters.

CPW announced the openings October 12, 2026.

CPW is an enterprise agency. It relies mainly on license sales, state parks fees and registration fees to fund its work. The agency runs 43 state parks and more than 350 wildlife areas covering about 900,000 acres. It also manages fishing and hunting, wildlife watching, camping, trails, boating and outdoor education. CPW's work adds about $6 billion in total economic impact each year across Colorado.
