Community Invited to Share Input Regarding Willow Creek Nature Trail
January 25, Lamar Community College will be hosting a stakeholder planning meeting regarding improvements to a portion of the Willow Creek Nature Trail that sits on its property. The meeting will be held from 5:30-7:00pm in the Large Lecture Hall of LCC’s Bowman Building; all in the community are invited to attend.
“We are lucky to have such a unique outdoor space on our property, and we are excited about improving it for the benefit of our students and the community.” said Sean Lirley, Director of Facilities.
On Conversation Day in September of 2017, the faculty and staff of LCC chose to improve the Trail as its 2017-2018 community service project.
The college held a preliminary planning meeting with interested staff members to begin planning the project. However, because there are many people in addition to students, faculty, and staff who enjoy the beauty and serenity of the Willow Creek Woods, the college would like to invite the community to share input and ideas for the Trail before the project begins.
LCC President Dr. Linda Lujan added, “Because the college is part of the larger community, we know how important it is to consider their interests before we begin our project. I look forward to hearing from our community members and other stakeholders.”
This community service project is the first of three to be completed by the College as part of its 2017-2020 Strategic Plan. To learn more about LCC’s Strategic Plan, Visit www.lamarcc.edu/about-lcc.
