A Day in the Life
By Michelle Wyckoff
Vacuuming. A despicable chore. Some people call it therapy. I can see that for some people..but not me. Real therapy to me would be having a kitchen window to look out of while I do the dishes-only those that I don’t have room for in the dishwasher, which happens quite often. I have at least two of everything just in case one might be in the dishwasher when I get the urge to use it.
But back to vacuuming. Yes, I do have one and I love looking at it. I just don’t like to drag it out and use it. Funny...I’ve had it for years and it still looks like new. So does my ironing board. In fact, I’ve had it for 42 years now and it still looks brand new, but come to think of it, so does my iron. But I digress…
I’ve been thinking about vacuuming for a long time now, but I can always find something better to do...like cleaning the bathroom or doing the laundry. Then it struck me, like a bolt of lightning. Thank goodness for TV. I love looking at that too. Someone has invented the perfect vacuum. It’s call a “Rumba.” Perhaps you’ve heard of it. That little round frisbee like thing that runs on a battery sucking up anything it finds on the floor-like spiders! I could go for one of those..in the living room, one in the bedroom, one in the office, one for the stairs...If it was Rumbas or chocolate, I could do it. Watching all the Rumbas would be better than watching TV.
I can’t wait for someone to invent a Rumba that will clean off the table, and load the dishwasher, and wash the windows, and dust the furniture, and fold the clothes, and take out the trash, and iron!
May you be living the good life, Dorothy Lyon!
