Eads Board of Trustees meeting minutes - July 11, 2022

The Regular Meeting of the Town of Eads Board of Trustees was called to order by Mayor Shields, Monday July 11, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. in the Town Hall. Robin Fox took roll call:

  • Mayor – Joe D. Shields- Present
  • Trustees – Present –Kathy McCracken, Stephanie Sewell, Tuck Liebl, Justin McLoud and Fred Derby
  • Absent – Dennis Pearson
  • Town Clerk- Robin Fox 
  • Assistant Clerk- Mikahael McCracken
  • Director of Public Works- Van Brown
  • Town Attorney – Lance Clark – Absent

Minutes­- Justin McLoud moved to approve the minutes as presented. Kathy McCracken seconded, motion passed unanimously. 

Approval of Bills – The finance committee reviewed the bills prior to the meeting. Justin McLoud moved to approve payment of the bills.  Fred Derby seconded, motion passed unanimously.

Public Comment- Matt and Claire Prince were present wanting to ask about getting the new pool process moving along. They feel the need for the pool is serious and would like to get involved.

New Business:

The board decided to pay Carrothers construction the $80,000.00 to get the contract started on the new pool. Kathy McCracken moved to approve to pay them, Justin McLoud seconded, motion passed unanimously.

It was decided to start getting some money makers started to help with the pool, and some of the requirements that GOCO grants require.  

We will set up a booth at the bash and ask Corrothers to be present and answer any questions that people may have regarding the pool.  There were a number of ideas brought up to try for money makers. The office staff will try and get an idea and get it set up by the bash. 

Grants- Cindy McLoud gave an update on the sidewalk and work that will be taking place in front of the theater. She gave updates on some grants she will be looking at to possibly help with the pool. 

Baseball field- the board talked about taking over the baseball field and it was unanimous that they do not want to take over the field.

Adjournment- Meeting was adjourned 7:01
