Dick, Kyle and I spent Friday and Saturday in Pueblo.  Dick helped judge the Open Class and FFA Crops Show at the State Fair. Friday at noon, we met Rebecca (Brodie) Sloan and her daughter Sandy at Arby's for lunch and visiting.  Rebecca grew up in Towner. Friday evening, we joined our niece, Gloria Jones and her husband Evan for supper at the Texas Roadhouse.  We spent all day Saturday at the State Fair seeing the sights and Kyle rode most every ride on the fairway several times.  It was a fun weekend for Kyle and I, poor Dick had to work all the time.

The Community Club Rummage Sale, held at the Plainview gymnasium on Saturday, was a huge success.  Thanks to everyone who donated items for the sale.

The wedding showers for Vincent and Victoria Koeller on Wednesday and Amanda Berggren on Saturday were well attended and they received many nice gifts.  Congratulations to all!

Susan Greenfield attended church in Eads on Sunday and then had lunch with David and Tina Kraft and family.

Connie Weber was down from Denver to spend the weekend with her parents, Denis and Theresa Weber and her brother Jerry Weber.  Denis and Theresa celebrated their Wedding Anniversary last Wednesday. Congrats!

Cora Coffman, Susan Greenfield and I went to Lamar last Tuesday for our TOPS meeting and the end of summer picnic.

Former exchange student, Henrietta (Henni) from Germany, who stayed with Monte and Linda Stum during the school year is here visiting them and other friends for the next two weeks.  On Thursday, Cheri Hopkins and I stopped in to visit.

The football and volleyball season is upon us.  The Plainview High School girls volleyball team will have their first game this coming Tuesday at 5p.m. in Lamar against their C team.  On Sept. 6th, there will be Jr. High and High School volleyball in Vilas against South Baca, starting at 4p.m.  The football team will take on the McClave B team at McClave at 4:30 on Sept. 6th.  Come on out and support our young athletes.
