Can you believe this weather? Don't ever remember it being this hot in the middle of February. I'm all for Spring getting here, but this is too early for plants, crops and trees.
Ruth Fees and Susan Greenfield went to Pueblo last Saturday to watch the Regional Wrestling Tournament. Congratulations to all the Eads wrestlers at Regionals on qualifying for the State Tournament, which will be in Denver this weekend.
Last Wednesday, the kinders through fifth grade went to Tribune, KS to watch "Rapunzel", which was put on by the Children's Theatre Group from Wichita, KS. The Junior High and High School students that qualified for the Regional Science Fair, went to Lamar on Wednesday.
They made a fine showing with Kayla Wanderling placing third in her division; Josh Blodgett placed third in his division and Kyle Scott received honorable mention in his division. Congratulations to all who participated.
Susan Greenfield and Wendy Humburg went to Denver on Thursday to watch the State Wrestling Tournament. Seth Splitter, a Plainview student, is wrestling with the Eads team.
Around 66 people enjoyed the Valentine Banquet at the Sheridan Lake Bible Church on Sunday evening. A missionary from France spoke to the group. Jay and Thomas Specht entertained everyone with their "Ballroom Dancing". The 4-12 Group of young people did a super job of serving the banquet.
Dick and I and Cora Coffman traveled to Eads Sunday evening to enjoy the Carriage ride and Valentine dinner at the Community Building on the fairgrounds. We saw lots of people we knew and it was a very enjoyable evening.
Linda Stum; Zelpha Deines; Cheri Hopkins and I went to Lamar Thursday afternoon to attend the 60th birthday celebration for Irl Dean Quinby. Irl Dean grew up south of Towner and attended Plainview School and later moved to
Lamar with his parents. Lots of people came and shared in his special day. Happy Birthday Irl!! After the party, Zelpha went on to Trinidad to see her daughter Gwyn; Cheri went to Eads for an EMT meeting; Linda went to Eads to attend the Documentary on "Women of Faith" at the theatre and I stayed in Lamar and went to supper with my sister Jerene DeBono and her husband Ian; our son Tom; our grandson Kyle and Dick to celebrate my birthday, which was also on Thursday.
Kelvin and Amy Schmidt returned home last week after spending several days in Hawaii, celebrating their 25th Wedding Anniversary.
Congratulations on your 25th!! Their daughter Mikayla is home from college for the weekend.
