Gene and Carolyn Lutz Celebrate 60th Wedding Anniversary
Gene and Carolyn (Baublits) of Canon City, were married August 31, 1958, at the United Methodist Church in Las Animas. They started their married life in Eads.
Gene retired from 35 years of service in the United States Department of Agriculture (ASCS) after working in Las Animas, Eads, Holyoke, and Canon City. Gene also served 23 years in the Colorado Army National Guard.
In Eads, Carolyn worked for the Superintendent of Eads Schools, Lovett’s Triangle Clothiers and John Deer.
The family left Eads in 1970 moving to Holyoke, where Gene worked in the Phillips County ASCS office.
Gene and Carolyn celebrated their occasion with 50 family members in July at the Lutz family reunion in La Junta. They plan another celebration, at a later date, with the immediate family, which two daughters, Melodee (Rod) Ellis of Aurora, and Kimberlee Bennett of Holyoke; granddaughter, Marissa Ellis of Aurora; grandsons, Preston and Kiley Ellis; and two great granddaughters.
In September, the couple will take a trip through the Canadian Rockies.
