250-150 Commission

The America 250 - Colorado 150 commission is created in History Colorado to develop programs and plan for the official observance across Colorado of the semiquincentennial anniversary of the founding of the United States, as marked by the Declaration of Independence in 1776, and the sesquicentennial anniversary of Colorado statehood.

Colorado Aeronautical Board

The Colorado Aeronautical Board assesses the state's aviation needs and makes recommendations to the Director of the Division of Aeronautics within the Department of Transportation.

Colorado Bureau of Investigation Forensic Services Committee

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation Forensic Services Committee shall provide advice and feedback from the criminal justice and scientific communities regarding the use and effectiveness of services provided by CBI Forensic Services, as well as aim to enhance communication between CBI Forensic Services and stakeholders. Its responsibilities include reviewing quality incidents, providing input on procedural changes, and proposing improvements.

Colorado Medical Board

The Colorado Medical Board reviews applications for medical licenses. In cases involving any professional or ethical violations of the Medical Practices Act, the board holds hearings and assists the state’s district attorneys in the prosecution of all persons, firms, associations, or corporations charged with improper conduct.

Early Childhood Leadership Commission

The Early Childhood Leadership Commission was formed to promote the coordination of policies and procedures that affect the health and well-being of Colorado children. A bipartisan public-private partnership of state leaders and decision makers, the Commission seeks to improve outcomes for young children ages birth to eight and their families by advancing the alignment, coordination and efficiency of programs and services.

Environmental Justice Advisory Board

The Colorado Disability Funding Committee accepts and reviews proposals and funds projects or programs that study or pilot new and innovative ideas that will lead to an improved quality of life or increased independence for persons with disabilities. The Committee accepts proposals from nonprofit entities to aid persons with disabilities in accessing disability benefits.

Judicial Nominating Commissions

There is a judicial district nominating commission for each of Colorado’s 23 judicial districts that select nominees for district and county judicial vacancies. Each district nominating commission is chaired by a justice of the Supreme Court, who is a non-voting member of the commission.

Motor Vehicle Dealer Board

The Board licenses and regulates motor vehicle dealers and salespersons. It also works to resolve consumer complaints about dealers, holds hearings and orders corrective action.

Natural Medicine Advisory Board

The Natural Medicine Advisory Board advises the Department of Regulatory Agencies on the implementation of the regulated natural medicine access program.

Public Utilities Commission of the State of Colorado

The Public Utilities Commission regulates telecommunications, gas, electric, and transportation utilities. The Commission also establishes regulatory policy for exercising oversight and control of the regulated utilities.

State Board of Community Colleges and Occupational Education

The Board is the governing body for the thirteen-state community college system and the coordinating body for the two local district colleges. It also regulates and coordinates the activities of area vocational schools.

  • Angelika Schroeder of Boulder, Colorado, to serve as a representative of the Second Congressional District, appointed;

State Board of Health

The State Board of Health advises the executive director of the department on all matters relating to public health and determines policies for the department to follow in administering and enforcing the public health laws of the state.

State Board of Human Services

The State Board of Human Services adopts policies, rules and regulations for the administration of the Department of Human Services.

State Board of Parole

The State Board of Parole holds hearings and considers applications for parole, and conducts all proceedings involving revocation of parole.

State Board of Veterinary Medicine

The State Board of Veterinary Medicine regulates and licenses veterinarians in the State of Colorado.

State Electrical Board

The Board examines and licenses electricians. The board also adopts and revises rules and regulations concerning the installation, repair and alteration of wiring apparatus and equipment for electric light, heat and power.

Transportation Commission

The Transportation Commission formulates general policy for the Colorado Department of Transportation with respect to the management, construction and maintenance of public highways and other transportation systems in the state. The Commission also works to assure that the preservation and enhancement of Colorado’s environment, safety, mobility and economics is considered in the planning of all transportation projects.
