Governor Polis Appoints Chantel E. Contiguglia to the 1st Judicial District Court

Colorado Governor Jared Polis has appointed Chantel E. Contiguglia to the 1st Judicial District Court. The vacancy is created by the retirement of the Honorable Randall C. Arp and is effective January 1, 2024. 

Contiguglia is an Arapahoe County Court Judge in the 18th Judicial District, a position she has held since 2018. Her docket consists of criminal and civil matters.

Previously, Contiguglia was the Supervising Deputy (2018), Lead Deputy (2017-2018), Senior Deputy (2008-2017), and Deputy (2007-2008) for the State Public Defender in the Golden Office.

Contiguglia earned her B.A. from Mesa State College in 2002 and her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2006.

Colorado’s 1st Judicial District includes Gilpin and Jefferson counties.
