One Lakewood Police agent died after a shooting near Colfax and Wadsworth Thursday night. Three other agents and one civilian were also hurt.

All four agents were taken to the hospital. The other three agents and the civilian remain in care.

Governor Polis will order flags to half-staff on the day of the agent's memorial. The date of the memorial has not yet been selected.

"Law enforcement put their lives on the line for our safety everyday and I am heartbroken to learn that a Lakewood Police Agent was killed in the line of duty this evening. My heart goes out to their family and friends. My thoughts are also with the three agents who are still receiving care at area hospitals, as well as the civilian who was wounded, and I wish them a full and speedy recovery. Thank you to law enforcement who run into danger to keep us safe and to protect our communities," said Governor Polis.

The Colorado State Patrol is helping at the scene. It is also taking part in the procession from the hospital for the fallen agent.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is helping with the ongoing investigation.
