Deputies with the Costilla County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, are investigating a murder at the Sangre de Cristo Subdivision in Costilla County which happened around 11:00 a.m. Saturday.

Jesus Lozano, 51, was shot at his home in the 900 block of Wilking Way. He was later pronounced dead at an Alamosa hospital. Preliminary information is that there may have been a disturbance at the home between the victim and another person or persons leading up to the shooting.

Investigators believe this is an isolated incident, and that the victim and the suspect(s) may be known to each another.
